Design Workbook - Principles

This picture shows a bunch of different forms of contrast.  the top left being with very little contrast, the bottom right with a high contrast
This picture shows emphasis on the dog.  You can tell because everything else in the picture is out of focus, the background is blurry, but the dog is in perfect focus
This picture shows balance because everything is solid, grounded, and carefully balanced.  It is even and flows well while you look at it.
This picture shows repetition because the glasses keep repeating.  All you see in the picture is the exact same object lined up over and over. Another example would be the "Nine of Me" assignment we did.
This picture is a pattern because it is the same object, evenly spaced from one another, but differing in the way it looks each time.  Some are thicker, different color, etc.
This picture shows rhythm because it looks like things are happening at different speeds.  So many things are happening at once, just like the rhythm in a song.
This picture shows movement because when you look at it you feel like you are moving, you can sense that the object in the picture was moving also.
This picture shows variety because although it is taken of the same objects, the objects have variety.  All the flowers are different types.
this picture shows unity because it is all connected, made into one. you could draw this picture without lifting up your pen.

Design Workbook - Elements

This picture shows the "line" element of design because the entire photograph is composed of straight lines.

This picture shows the "shape" element because there is a distinct shape cut out from the design as a whole.  Lines form together to make a shape, a new element.

This picture shows the "texture" element of design because it look as though if you touched it, you could feel it.  Picture that form a tangible feeling show texture.

This picture shows color because there is a bright yellow against a bright blue and none of the colors mix.  There is a definite difference between the two colors and both are exaggerated to an extent.

This picture shows value because you can tell the shapes and forms of what is going on in the picture.  There is value between all the objects and a perfect balance in the lighting and surroundings.
This picture shows form because it shows the structure and strength of an object.  The way an object is set up or made to stand is its "structure"
This shows space because it shows all the vast openness of the mountains.  In one small picture you can sense the space and area over the whole stretch of land.

hypermedia autobiography

My name is Audrey Hartzler.  I was born in Minnesota, but grew up in Bloomington, Indiana until I was 5 years old, and moved to Minnetonka.
Once we moved, I attended Glen Lake Elementary School from first grade to sixth.  I then continued to go to Hopkins Schools and am now a Junior at Hopkins High School.
My family and I have traveled a lot but one place I have never been and have always wanted to is Europe.  Paris and Italy have always attracted me.

One of my top three hobbies would definitely be music.  I have been playing the violin for seven years, and not a day goes by without listening to my favorite country songs!  My other two hobbies would be swimming and being on the lake.   I have been on the Hopkins swim team for four years, and while living in Minnesota, the most fun thing to do is hang out on the lake.  Winter or summer, I love it.
One person i would like to meet is Brad Paisley.  He is one of my favorite country singers.
My favorite restaurant is definitely Olive Garden.  They have the best breadsticks!!
Other interesting things about me is that math is my favorite subject, unlike most students i assume.  I have always been pretty good at it. Lastly, my favorite food in the world is puppy chow.   I can never have enough of it.
